Meet the Team

Niibin Advisory Services is led by Shylo Elmayan who is Anishinaabe on her mother’s side and a band member of the Long Lake #58 First Nation.  Her family’s traditional territory is in and around Hornepayne in northern Ontario.

Shylo has led consultations with First Nations and Métis communities on energy projects and to develop the City of Hamilton’s first Urban Indigenous Strategy.  She has successfully attracted grants and led teams to design and deliver programs for Indigenous learners.  With a Bachelor’s degree in First Nations Studies and a Masters degree in Public Policy and Administration, Shylo loves to be involved in projects that help Indigenous communities with their operational and governance goals.

Emily Doxtator is a citizen of Oneida Nation of the Thames.  She is an experienced and organized administrative professional who is excited to support Niibin’s projects with Indigenous communities.

 

In her previous work experience, Emily worked closely with Executive Directors of different urban Indigenous organizations by providing administrative support.  Emily prides her proficiency in coordinating meetings with clients and colleagues, supporting with report writing, bookkeeping such as, creating invoices, collecting information for weekly/monthly finance reports and keeping track of receipts for office expenses.
